August HPDT Social Walk – North Weald

If you’re looking for a friendly dog social walk in Essex and Hertfordshire, our monthly HPDT Social Walks bring together past and present clients for a relaxed group dog walk where dogs can enjoy the countryside while practising real-life skills like recall, engagement, and calm behaviour around other dogs.

Our next HPDT Social Walk is a very special one, as we’ll be celebrating Bear’s 10th birthday with his friends, past and present. His birthday is technically on 27th August, but I couldn’t think of a better way for him to celebrate than enjoying a lovely walk with everyone. 🎂🐾

Sadly, dogs’ lives are far too short, so every year I have with Bear becomes more precious. He would love to spend this special occasion with all the people and dogs who have been part of his life through HPDT.

The walk will be on Bank Holiday Monday 31st August 2026 @ North Weald.

We will meet at North Weald Village Hall Car Park, 40 High Road, North Weald, CM16 6BU @ 09:50 and start walking @ 10:00.

If you’re running late, I’ll share our live location in the WhatsApp group once we’ve set off.

If the weather is forecast to be warm, we may start slightly earlier. Please check this page and the WhatsApp group the day before the walk for any changes.

Parking at the village hall is limited, but there is additional free parking on nearby side roads and at the pub. Please allow a little extra time to find a suitable parking space.

Strictly for HPDT Clients and their dog (past and present) who have completed our face-to-face Puppy and/or High School course.

This walk is not suitable for dogs with any reactive behaviour.

Code of Conduct

We aim to set the bar for Dog Walking Etiquette (read the full article here).

Please put your dog on a lead if:

• You see other dogs on lead (they may be anxious)
• Your dog is likely to approach or jump up at people (they might not want the attention 😊)
• There is any livestock or horse riders nearby
• Your dog is harassing another dog in the group

Please bring a short lead (no flexi leads please), poo bags, and plenty of treats. You want sexy “recall treats”, which I’ve highlighted in our shop. You can also read Using The Right Treat For The Right Job.
