Supporting Guide Dogs
HPDT is proud to support the Guide Dogs charity through volunteering, fundraising and sponsoring puppies in memory of my dad.
Here are a few simple ways you can get involved:
Guide Dogs is a charity very close to my heart. For over sixteen years I worked in their training and puppy departments, helping to prepare future guide dogs for life-changing partnerships.
I’ve seen first-hand how much independence, confidence and joy these dogs bring to people with sight loss. 🐾
If you’d like to get involved too, here are a few simple ways you can support the Guide Dogs charity – whether you can give your time, take on a fundraising challenge, or sponsor a guide dog puppy in memory of a loved one. You can also keep an eye on the News page for updates on our latest Guide Dogs fundraising events.

Volunteering
You could make a life-changing difference to blind and partially sighted people by volunteering with Guide Dogs. There are lots of ways to help, including:
- raising a guide dog puppy
- boarding dogs in training
- driving dogs or service users
- supporting local teams or kennels
You’ll receive full training and support, and many roles can fit around work and family life.
If you or anyone you know is interested, please visit the volunteering page or call 0345 143 0191:
Events
There are many local, national and even international events you can join to raise money for Guide Dogs – from sponsored walks and runs to skydives, abseils and challenge events.
It’s a brilliant way to have an amazing experience with friends, family or colleagues while raising vital funds for more life-changing guide dog partnerships.

Sponsor A Puppy
We continue to raise vital funds for Guide Dogs in memory of my dad, Colin Ross. So far, our fundraising has sponsored two guide dog puppies – Colin and Ollie. 💛
Our next goal is to raise enough for a third puppy, who will be called Chipper (my dad’s nickname at the Met Police gun club). Every pound genuinely helps create another life-changing partnership.
If you’d like to make a donation, however small, you can do so via our JustGiving page:
