Ladder Of Aggression

Devised by Kendal Sheppard in 2004, this is a great visual on how dogs can escalate behaviours and body language if they go unheard.

The more we listen to the whispers (yawning, blinking, nose licking), the less the dog has to shout and go higher up the ladder.

These are all in context and vary from dog to dog. There are also many more, but these are some examples of what to look out for.
