As the nights are drawing in, I’ve started using Bear’s safety gear for evening walks. I’ve tried many products over the many years of owning dogs, I’ve hand picked three of the very best I use each night.

The first thing I use is his Ruffwear Lumenglow High-Vis Jacket. It’s highly reflective, so great for when I’m walking down the dark country roads.
It’s weather resistant (which is great in the rain and helps to keep him dry and warm) and it features a hole on top, so you can still use your harness under the jacket if required.
It has a light loop, so you can attach an LED Safety Light (see below). It comes in a variety of sizes and three different colours (and looks rather stylish).

The next bit of gear is the Orbiloc LED Safety Light. I loop this on Bear’s harness or High-Vis jacket, it’s really easy to take on and off and attach it to different equipment.
These are waterproof and can be set to flashing or solid light. You can see them for up to three miles. This has been so useful to spot Bear chasing squirrels in the evening.

The final bit of equipment I use is an LED Collar. These ones are rechargeable via USB, waterproof and come in a variety of colours and sizes.
They have a quick release buckle and D-Ring to attach your lead (better than an O-Ring).
